Sandhouse Premium Hardwax Oil

Hardwax Oil requires a little more skill to get right - the sanding on point, and the application sometimes can vary from product to product. For a true bare finish, the OmniTone matte varnish will get you that, but if you want to use hardwax oil our almost bare will get you there and definitely refuse the oil tones BUT you must follow these steps:

spray water on floor after sanding, using something like a pump spray, we call it water popping in the trade, it opens up the grain more to take more of the bare pigment... let it dry then apply! It's worth water popping the floor for all applications of the Sandhouse Hardwax Oil other than the Traditional that we stock.

for Snow White you will need to buy a tin of snowy white and a tin of almost bare. You buff on the Snow White and buff off, then apply a 30/70 mix of the almost bare, and Snow White mixed together by rolling on. I of course can be contacted for application advice, all

oaet of the service!

Almost Bare Timber Look or a Timeless Traditional Finish  The Choice is Yours

Sandhouse Premium Hardwax Oil is the result of extensive collaboration with top European manufacturers to deliver a high-performance, professional-grade finish. Designed to protect and enhance wood surfaces, this premium formula offers two stunning options:

Almost Bare Timber Look – Preserves the natural beauty of wood with a raw, near-bare appearance. Snow White will give a pale bare look of buffed on, then cover with a top coat of the almost bare, which gives a creamy natural look:

Pale Smoke – Make's the timber look a nice smoked sand colour bare with Smokey undertones.

Snow White – Make's the timber really white and scandi, but it requires a rolled on top coat of Almost Bare for that 2 coat protection. You can mix 20 - 30% in with the top coat if you want to make it REALLLLLLY white.

Traditional – No need to water pop the floor for this one...This adds a classic golden warmth, perfect for bringing out the rich character of timber with a timeless aesthetic.

Both variants are certified safe for food surfaces and children’s toys, making them ideal for floors, furniture, and countertops while ensuring a durable, family-friendly finish.

Key Features:

Certified Safe – Approved for food surfaces and children’s toys for worry-free use in any setting.

Exceptional Protection – Guards against wear, moisture, and stains to keep wood looking its best.

Versatile Finish Options:

Almost Bare Timber Look – Achieve a creamy raw, natural wood aesthetic without unwanted colour shifts.

Traditional – Enhance wood with a classic golden tone for warmth and depth.

Smooth, Luxurious Surface – Leaves a velvety, dirt-resistant finish that’s easy to maintain.

Breathable & Flexible – Allows wood to move naturally with environmental changes, preventing cracks or warping.

Application Instructions:

1. Prepare – Ensure the wood is clean, dry, and dust-free.

2. Apply – Stir well, then apply a thin, even coat with a brush, roller, or cloth along the grain. (If using Snow White roll on a few planks at a time then buff it off with a clean rag, then top coat in Almost Bare'

3. Dry – Allow several hours to dry. For added durability, lightly sand and apply a second coat.

4. Maintain – Clean regularly with a damp cloth and reapply as needed.
